Champion Cornhole Tournament Play

First and foremost we created our tournaments so that community members could get out and participate in a social and competitive event. League nights are designed for you to get to know your team, other teams, and ultimately be seeded into the tournament bracket.

All matches will be played in doubles format (Teams of two).

Cancellation scoring vs Accumulation scoring

Accumulation scoring will be used in regular league and practice matches. This type of scoring will speed games up and allow more rotations in the league. Teams will keep all of their points in each inning and the team that scores the most points in an inning will throw first in the following inning. All points in each inning count towards the team's score(the goal is to get to 21 first).

Cancellation scoring will be used for qualifying and inter-tournament games. Teams can only win an inning and thus score points if they score more than their opponent in that inning. If Team A score 8 points and Team B scores 5 points then Team A wins the inning and scores 3 points in the match(the goal is to get to 21 first).

How Do you Play Cornhole?

The game of Cornhole can be played in a variety of ways. While cornhole is a widely known as a recreational backyard game, it is quickly becoming a competitive sport across the nation. Most of us grew up playing the game a certain way with rules and scoring, but the ACA has established official rules for cornhole gameplay.

Getting Started

  • 2 boards are placed 27 feet apart "front to front".
  • Team members will play directly across from each other.
  • Each team gets 4 bean bags to throw.
  • The first inning kicks off with a coin toss and the winning team gets to choose what order they want to play in.
  • On the designated side each person will take turns throwing following that same order.
  • An inning comes to a close when one side has thrown all 8 bags.
  • The team that gets the most points in a given inning will throw first in the following inning.
  • During regular games, innings will continue until a team has reached 21 and beats their opponent by 2 points.
